These Terms of Donation govern all donations made to CardioGenix LLC (“CardioGenix”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) through our website.

1. Nature of Donations

Donations made to CardioGenix are voluntary contributions to support our research and development of treatments for genetic dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). A donation is not an investment, and donors do not receive equity, ownership rights, or any financial return.

2. Use of Funds

All donations will be used exclusively for CardioGenix’s research activities, including non-clinical studies, maintenance of our proprietary DCM mouse model, and related scientific work. We may also use a portion of the funds for operational expenses necessary to advance our mission.

3. No Refunds

All donations are final and non-refundable. Once a donation is made, it cannot be cancelled or returned, except in cases required by applicable law.

4. Tax Deductibility

CardioGenix is a Japanese limited liability company. Donations to us are not eligible for tax deduction or charitable contribution benefits under Japanese tax law or the tax laws of most other countries. Please consult your tax advisor for advice specific to your situation.

5. Recognition and Benefits

Depending on the donation tier, donors may receive recognition on our website (optional and with consent) and/or other non-monetary benefits such as research update newsletters or invitations to online briefings. These benefits are provided as a token of appreciation and do not constitute consideration for the donation.

6. Intellectual Property

Any research outcomes, data, or inventions resulting from the use of donated funds belong solely to CardioGenix. Donors have no rights to intellectual property generated through our research.

7. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Personal information provided during the donation process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We will not sell or share your information with third parties except as necessary to process the donation (e.g., through PayPal).

8. Modification of Terms

We may update these Terms of Donation from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of our donation service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
